PRESERVING OUR HERITAGE
WILLIAMS HOUSE
Restoration and maintenance of the Williams House continued this year.
Extensive improvements of the grounds and entrances have made the approaches to the house safer and more attractive. The bluestone steps leading to the rear entrance are now in place along with the handicapped accessible walk and driveway. Trees and old shrubs were cleared.
The front room has been furnished in turn-of-the -century style and new shelving and access are in place to house our growing collections.
We now have a telephone and an alarm system, with temperature monitoring, installed. The telephone number is 570 226-8980.
TAFT CEMETERY
The Taft Cemetery Committee conducted the annual cleanup of the Taft Cemetery in May as well as routine maintenance throughout the summer.
